In this October 2012 interview, MAJ Edward Sleeper, US Army, Logistics; discusses his deployment to Iraq as a support operations officer for 426th FSB in 2003 through 2004 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). MAJ Sleeper describes his first days into country and establishing the need for a restaurant after many Soldiers were losing weight due to lack of proper nourishment. He talks about how he convinced his brigade to support a local pizza shop in country and he begins to describe how he prepped his Iraqi counterpart, Mohammed, for the job. He talks about Mohammed's reaction to the pizza shop idea and he describes how Mohammed took the pizza shop plans over and hired 10 guys to refurbish a local rundown building. MAJ Sleeper details the days leading up to the official opening day and describes the day-to-day process, detailing the menu, pricing and the additions to the menu as time went on. He closes his interview by noting a tribute from the Army Times when reporter, Gina Cavallaro, visited Iraq, \"I was really glad to do that story with her and to show a story at that time that there was something good going on for folks back home because there were a lot of ugly things going on too.\""17.73 | Interview With Maj Edward Sleeper Part Ii, Paperback | Indigo Chapters
