History is replete with false doctrines rooted in errors of interpretation. Michael D. McCubbins, Th.D. describes the biblical rules for interpretation so that you can understand your Bible. The Apostle Paul stated that the believer could interpret the Bible when he reads what was given to the apostles and prophets. "Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ" (Ephesians 3:4). Peter likewise defined interpretation in II Peter 1:20-21, saying, "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." With this book, you will learn:
-The seven biblical rules of interpretation
The biblical principles that spring from those rules
-The necessity to be cautious about new truth
Don't fall into the trap of letting well-known scholars interpret the Bible for you. God has entrusted all of His children with the job of interpretation.
