"No one ever told me how incredibly gratifying and beautiful it can be to grow.
Since no one ever told me, I am here to tell you."
When I Became Light is Ilana Weinstein's debut book. In a collection of 60 poems, she explores a bumpy coming of age and journey to confidence - just a little differently than the world around her might have expected. Her pieces comment on loneliness, growing up, a first real relationship, finding her own self-worth, and more, all wrapped up into scenes of her home; New York City.
See how beautiful it is to grow into who you are through Ilana's eyes and maybe, just maybe...you'll find your light too.
