Dr. Ed so vividly describes the daily experiences of growing up in the late '40's and early '50's. He follows the theme of his popular first book; "Growing up Italian; Grandfather's Fig Tree and Other Stories" with experiences that return you to your childhood and make you wish you were enjoying family in so many ways, particularly at Sunday dinner. The simplicity of the sights, sounds and smells of daily life come alive. Learn how Dr. Ed's relatives, friends and neighbors are so very similar to yours, no matter what your background. Read the stories from beginning to end in no particular order. Then, sit back, reflect and read them again. Your own stories will come to mind and beg to be told. Dr. Ed sets a great example for you in this book.
