This book is something special! "What are the martial arts? - This is the most mysterious point which one gains without learning." These cryptic words were spoken by one of the greatest martial artists of the twentieth century, Grandmaster Takamatsu Toshitsugu. Michael Coleman started his journey in early childhood fighting in sport martial arts tournaments. But later, his curiosity about the roots and true meaning behind the discipline grew. In his teenage years, Michael stopped competitions and turned his focus to traditional budo (Japanese martial arts). Destiny led him to cross paths with legendary Grandmaster Shoto Tanemura. Fortitude enabled Michael to receive the direct teaching he longed for. This book contains the amazing story of how Michael Coleman's martial arts apprenticeship unfolded.
