Throughout history, men and women have asked the same questions in relation to human suffering. If someone we love is seriously injured in an accident, we ask, 'Why do dreadful things happen to good people?' If we are going through a dark and difficult time, we ask, 'Where is God when I need Him?' When we see thousands of people dying because of war or famine, we ask, 'If God is powerful, why does he not stop such tragedies occurring?' Graeme and Julia Cann do not presume to have the answers to these questions but seek to help their readers create a space where they can escape the hopelessness and powerlessness that often descends upon sufferers and their carers. They do this by speaking out of over 60 years of ministry experience, where they have pastored and counselled thousands of people, as they have confronted times of darkness.
