Syed Sibt-e-Hasan was an eminent Urdu scholar, journalist and political activist. He is regarded as one of the pioneers of Socialism and Marxism in Pakistan, as well as the moving spirit behind the Progressive Writers Association. He started his career in journalism and was associated with magazines and newspapers like Payam, Naya Adab and National Herald. He spent most of his time in writing and compiling and presented purely academic and intellectual works.
