Upon the Stars is a book consisting of poems, a musical composition, and short stories, both fiction and non-fiction created by a mother-daughterteam. Dr. Linda Mata includes poems she has written along with two ancestralbiographies and the epic of Sundiata Keita of Old Mali.Her daughter, Christiana Guarino has included poems she has writtenwith some dating back to early childhood. She has also written a story in tributeto her late grandmother along with three other short stories.As in their first book entitled "Roads and Reminiscences," they haveexpressed views of nature and everyday life and revealed contrasts betweenviews of mother and daughter. This book exemplifies a positive parent/daughterrelationship and promotes creativity on the part of young people as well asadults.
