Kidnapped by her well-meaning family and sent on a surprise vacation to a whale-watching camp in Baja California, Mexico, workaholic veterinarian Morgan West falls in love with the beauty of the Baja Peninsula--and with handsome engineer Hud McGuire. Introduced by Neez, an omnivorous basset hound, and pushed together by Jo and Bill, a pair of aging, hot-air-ballooning nudists, Morgan and Hud engage drastically different lifestyles and attitudes. Together they face a major challenge--rescuing a beached and wounded baby gray whale. Can a "people-person" find true happiness with an "animal-person?" Can the mismatched couple save the whales, one at a time? Can they stop Neez from eating everything in sight? Morgan and Hud embark on a quest to discover whether love really is made of Trips and Whales and Puppy Dog Tales .
