Exploring the metaphysics of time, this book examines key questions about the nature of time. It begins by examining the distinction between the two main theories of time, the static view and the tensed view, arguing that the temporal properties of 'past', 'present' and 'future' are not in fact properties of events. Other topics also discussed include fatalism, the 'open' future, death and dying, whether there are logical impediments to travelling in time, and the metaphysical implications of precognition. Revised and expanded second edition.
