"That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." It's common knowledge that these historic words were spoken by Neil Armstrong, the first person to step on the moon. This thrilling volume explains how a young boy from Ohio became arguably the most famous astronaut of all time. Readers will learn about that first perilous journey to the moon but also how Armstrong was a pilot by the time he was 16, serving in the Korean War before the U.S. space program. Armstrong's interviews, writings, and other insights are interspersed throughout this must-read addition to science and social studies collections.
