A young man, a bouncer, is murdered violently, stabbed in the throat while trying to defuse a fight at a popular sports bar. With one middle-of-the-night phone call, his family is thrust into a horrific nightmare, forced to come to grips with the unimaginable loss of their son, the raw-gut-wrenching emotion of a murder trial, and the tormenting path to justice. This is a true life saga, as told from the broken heart of the young man's mother. Candidly written, she suppressed her grief as she battled with the concept of forgiveness. Besides sharing the essence of who her son was to her and others, her poignant reflection includes her nightly correspondence to family and friends, as well as the courtroom drama that ensued. With honest detail, the story documents the family's overwhelming sorrow, the love and support of many along their journey, and the family's determination to celebrate their son's life in a meaningful way.
