Korina's eye found the dozen red roses that now sat awkwardly on her kitchen counter. The roses weren't a surprise. They were more of an annoyance. Terrence just would not give up. She knew it was Terrence because everyone else had given up ages ago. It just seemed as if Terrence couldn't take no for an answer. She might have thought him arrogant to assume that he could just convince her even though she had turned him down, but she knew him too well to think that. She felt bitter sweet when he came to talk to her or left her gifts. She had become more attached to Terrence and their relationship than she would have liked to admit. He seemed to always care for her, no matter how many times she'd turned him down. She also appreciated the fact that whenever he was in town, he took plenty of time from his busy schedule to talk with her and to pursue her. However, she knew that it would never work out...Or could it?
