Play one of Camille Saint-Saëns’s most elegant and best-known pieces on your alto saxophone. In this version specially arranged for saxophone, “The Swan” sounds in the saxophone-friendly key of A-flat major. The gentle, flowing melody in a calm 6/8 meter creates a weightless, almost dreamlike atmosphere and invites plenty of expression and tonal beauty. The lead sheet is deliberately kept simple, clearly notated, and furnished with chord symbols. With a playing time of around two minutes, it is ideal for recitals, exams, concerts, or as an atmospheric encore piece. A beautiful, playable, and sonorous version of Camille Saint-Saëns’s famous classic—elegant, expressive, and highly effective with audiences.
