Rafe Backwater is a natural. In the rough challenging world of commercial salmon fishing in Alaska, he's found his niche. The small town he calls home, Coroglen, is a paradise where the fishermen live and die by each other, doors are not locked and houses are open to all. Into his world will come Sophie Tarbuck, a striking woman working on one of the fish tenders for the summer, and Paul Lawless, a lonely young man fleeing a dark secret he cannot escape. These three come together in an intrigue of love, passion, drugs and murder, set in the wild mountains, the swift-running sloughs and crashing surf of Alaska and the Gulf Coast.
