'The Shieldwall' is the first of five books of 'The Wild Edric Saga.' . (1) The Shieldwall. (2) The Broken shield. (3) Aelnoth. (4) The Red King. & (5) The Warrior King. The Saga follow the life (real and fictional) of a man who lived in England in the 11th century. at a time prior to, during and following 'The Battle of Hastings. Whilst few facts exist regarding Edric. Records tell us that he married a lady named 'Godda'. Godda was discribed by scribes who called her 'The Queen of the Fairy folk.' but as the word 'Fairy' did not enter into the English language some 400 years after the time of Edric, I have taken it upon myself to call her 'The Queen of the Light Elves.' as Elves, Trolls and Goblins were part of the Folk lore of the Northern European peoples. Edric and Godda had one known son, who they named 'Aelnoth. Edric is described in the infamous 'Doomsday book ' as = 'Aedric the Savage.' Edric. (Aedric) fought against the Welsh as well as the Norman invaders, but eventually made peace with the all powerful Normans and joined them in the 'Battle of Alnwick' where they defeated the combined army of Picts, Celts and Vikings of King Malcolm of Scotland.
