This book is a collective outpouring of our thoughts and experiences as college professors interested in exploring the elusive and enigmatic topic of the existence of God. In this book, we do not assert that God exists. What we have attempted to do, however, is explore the probability that God does, in fact, exist. Our concern is not to encourage the believer or dissuade the nonbeliever as to the existence of God. What we have tried to do, instead, is to construct an argument based on observation, research, logic, empirical knowledge, and the mysteries of the universe, and one that science has failed miserably to provide. We are social scientists and true believers in the world of science. Nevertheless, despite its academic rigor and fact-based analysis and theory, science has fallen woefully short in explaining the nonexistence of God. Science has demonstrated its capability in many areas of life but is also limited in its ability to discuss perplexing questions pertaining to the existence of God. Can scientists perform experiments to prove or disprove the existence of God? If so, what would be their starting point, hypotheses, methodology, variables, data, statistical analysis, and so on? Most natural scientists who posit that God does not exist are supercilious and have an absence of facts to bolster their vacuous assertions. The universe is vast and immeasurable. It is multifaceted and cannot be quantified or demystified despite the claims of science that it has the wherewithal to do so. Science has promised a myriad of theories and delivered many but in the domain of the other mystic world, which is beyond the sophomoric comprehension of egotistical humanity, it has simply failed to provide answers despite its many claims of academic preponderance in a post-industrialized world.
