A monastery cook with no formal education discovered, while washing dishes, a way of living in constant, quiet conversation with God — and the letters and conversations he left behind became one of the most beloved devotional texts ever written. Brother Lawrence's radical claim is that holiness isn't found in grand gestures but in the smallest, most ordinary moments, fully inhabited. Simple, brief, and startlingly practical, it has comforted readers of every faith background for over three centuries.
