In The Piano Player and Other Stories , an eclectic and original assortment of imaginative scenarios involving Will Holtzman, author Wayne Housum paints a broad portrait of a man who is both a keen observer of human nature and one of its hapless victims. In one story Will finds the truth behind a long dismissed local legend. In another, his friend goes on the date from hell that only gets worse after its over. And in yet another adventure he learns the vicissitudes of theatre folk and the distraction of rare beauty. Poignant and engaging, author Housum has written universal stories of the frailties common to every man, while capturing the essence of what is right and true about the human heart. Housum's fertile imagination will transport you to a time of nostalgia when innocence was a virtue and where the dingy side of the human soul was as prevalent as it is today. In this eclectic collection of short fiction, Wayne Housum leverages literary brevity with the precision of a scalpel to evoke raw emotion and vivid imagery. Filled with complex and conflicted characters, The Piano Player and Other Stories is told with pathos and tension and written with masterful prose.
