The Pianist Tactile System is an innovative practical approach for pianists of all levels to develop the ability to play the piano without relying on the conventional approach monitored exclusively by the auditory mechanism.
The Pianist Playground expands the concepts from The Pianist Tactile System with the practice of musical performance by incorporating new angles of possibilities from playful explorations to probabilities and chance in acoustic dynamic spaces.
About the Author
Alexi Lima was born in Brazil. He began learning to play the piano and the cello from a young age. After his graduation from the Music School of Brasilia, he went on to study at Indiana State University, where he stayed for two years. Among many of his distinguished teachers, include Peter Schuback, Aldo Parisot, Roberto Szidon, Christopher Bochmann and John Ibberson. He was one of the founders of the Claude Debussy Arts Center in Brasilia while he ran his own piano studio in Boston for near three decades, organizing more than thirty student recitals at Berklee College of Music. Alexi Lima has produced more than a dozen recordings of solo piano music. He has also focused on what he describes as 'conceptual writing' in the areas of music and physics.
