I was surprised! Before that moment, I couldn’t have been more joyful: Most of my life – my kids, work and health – were doing great. I thanked the Lord everyday for the strength that He gave me, and my joy was immense. In fact, I went to the gym 5 times a week for 1-1/2 hours per session, went on 22-mile road bike rides every weekend, and did two-hour practices for synchronized paddling called Dragon Boating on most weekends. Then, I contracted the flu for the first time in my life and the virus attacked my heart! This is a story of how God brought me back to life in that intense ICU journey at UCSD Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center. I was near death and my experience was not just an illness. It was an attack from the other side. But God is greater than all the attacks in our lives and we end up victorious in all the trials because He hears our petitions and our prayers. Through it all, I found God to be faithful. This experience led me to believe even more of God’s amazing power and presence in our lives! He became so real to me! My testimony is that God has a message of revelation and of restoration and healing. Read this heaven-and-hell journey and be amazed at what is real on the other side!
