Reignard and Arlette, betrothed in their quiet Berlan village, should be celebrating their future. Yet Arlette’s mother—the enigmatic Old Woman—refuses to bless their union, offering no explanation.
Determined to uncover the truth, Reignard sets out on a perilous quest that leads him through devilish trials and a towering wall of thorns, into a twisted version of Berlan from another time.
There, he must face three formidable challenges. If he succeeds, his village may yet claim a dignified future—and the Old Woman may finally give her blessing.
Each task will test the limits of his courage and resolve, and success is far from certain. Will Reignard’s journey win him the life he and Arlette dream of - or cost him everything?
