In this book, Floyd analyzes key events from Jesus' life and ministry, questioning certain aspects of his actions and decisions. The book presents a view of Jesus not as a perfect divine figure but as a man who, despite his noble intentions, might have made mistakes that shaped his mission and message. This interpretation was radical at the time, as it sought to humanize Jesus in a way that contrasted with the religious and theological portrayals of him as an infallible being. The Mistakes of Jesus was controversial for its bold critique of religious orthodoxy and its questioning of long-held beliefs about the nature of Christ. While the book was met with criticism from religious communities, it contributed to discussions around faith, reason, and the human side of religious figures. The work is now regarded as an early example of secular critique of religious doctrines.
