Set in the 80s, The Little Schoolhouse by the River is the true story of a young elementary teacher setting forth on his first assignment following college. He is assigned to a small church school located across from the Bookcliffs, just up from the river, in the rugged beauty of Western Colorado. He soon learns that his original plans and expectations must be abandoned as he struggles to manage an ever-increasing enrollment. Despite the myriad challenges, he swiftly discovers that he has a natural gift at connecting with the children in his care. The story follows him as he becomes deeply invested in the success of his students while also dealing with his own frustration and loneliness.
