The much-anticipated sequel to the million-copy international bestseller The Second Chance Convenience Store, The Last Chance Convenience Store is just as moving and full of heart as the original, inviting us once again into the comforting glow of a neighborhood store where laughter, struggle, and second chances converge in one poignant tale.
Welcome back to the store where everyone has a story.
A new chapter at the Always convenience store begins. A year and a half has passed. The world has changed—and so has the Always convenience store in Cheongpa-dong. Under the mask-wearing reality of the pandemic, the store is now run by Seonsuk, a once-frustrated mother turned steady manager, and Minsik, the wayward son of the beloved owner who once made the store a refuge. Prickly, reluctant, and more concerned with profits than people, Minsik is an unlikely heir to his mother’s legacy of quiet generosity. But when a new night worker arrives—Hwang Geunbae, a clumsy yet endearing man in his forties who prefers to go by the name “Hong Geumbo”—the convenience store begins to transform once again. With a booming voice, meddlesome streak, and disarming warmth, Hong Geumbo brings both chaos and comfort to those around him.
Blending sharp wit, gentle humor, and emotional depth, this sequel reminds us that no one is too lost for a second chance—and sometimes, healing starts in the most ordinary of places.
