Coles The King and the Monster: Let's Talk About Addiction at Village Green Shopping Centre in Vernon, BC
*Product information may vary - to confirm product availability, pricing, shipping and return information please contact Coles
Are you looking for a way to explain the disease of addiction to young children? Do you want a book that... Is a story of love and compassion? Has a vision of healing, health and happiness? You've found it! Late one night, Kathi Lockwood received a phone call from a family member. She heard a frantic voice: "Please write a book to help me explain to Annie* why her father had to go away." Six-year-old Annie's dad had just entered a rehabilitation center for addiction. With an aching heart, yet up to the challenge, Lockwood conceived the metaphor of the King and the Monster: a loving father who falls into the trap of addiction. When the King asks for help, Guardian angels, a wisdom tree, and Healing Helpers all aid him in his journey to health and his joyful reunion with his family. *fictitious name
