Edmund Emil Kemper the Third, who gained the nickname Guy in his family, was an American Serial Killer, Rapist, Necrophile, and self-proclaimed Cannibal; however, this cannibalism claim was never proven, and Kemper later retracted this claim. Kemper was active across California in the early 1970s and a double homicide in 1964. He would gain the nickname of the Co-ed Killer or Co-Ed Butcher after he killed six female college students, three members of his immediate family, and a close friend and colleague of his mothers, a total of ten victims. Kemper was known to drive around college campuses frequently, and in other neighborhoods, college students would walk around, and Kemper would offer rides to any female hitchhikers he came across. When he chose women to become his victims, he would begin conversations to make them comfortable and drop their guard after ensuring that the woman felt comfortable and dropped their guard. After ensuring that the woman felt comfortable in Kemper's presence, he would drive to secluded areas, often using the confusing highway systems to his advantage. He would proceed to shoot, stab, or strangle the women at these remote areas before taking their bodies home with him to dismember and dispose of them.
