Todays leader is being challenged more than ever. Do it because I said so is not effective, and the importance of treating employees as our customers is key to success. Effective leaders need to encourage their workers to share their thinking, even to be free to assertively disagree. Horizontal communications make it possible for leaders and subordinates to avoid roadblocks in their relationships. Team building is more than a nice phrase; it is essential to make the staff more efficient. It encourages everyone to put aside personal interest for the good of the team. It gives priority to values, integrity, and honesty as a way of life in the work environment. It recognizes the importance of making a life to effectively make a living. Remember, were not what we think we are, but what we think, we are. Horizontal leadership is a win-win for both sides.
