Kids are often better at communicating their feelings through creativity. They don't want to be told what they should feel; they want acceptance for who they are. "The Amazing You" is an interactive workbook meant to celebrate each child as an individual and allow them a safe place to explore their own worth and opinions. It also allows them to discuss sadness and times when they may have used their Personal Power in negative ways. "The Amazing You" can be helpful and enjoyable for any kid. These activities have been used with both victims of bullying and bullies, with kids from healthy families, and with kids who have been abused and neglected. The language in the book is written in a way that doesn't assume that the child lives with her birthfamily, so children in foster care or who are being raised by relatives or those dealing with adoption-related trauma won't feel left out. "The Amazing You" is now being used in the 21st Century Community Learning Centers in the St. Tammany Parish School District of Louisiana for their After School Program.
