They tried to silence me. I refused to disappear.
Janessa Gunderson was a powerlifter, a mother, and a fighter-until her body started shutting down without warning. Seizures. Dizziness. Numbness so severe she could no longer walk. Doctor after doctor dismissed her, telling her it was anxiety, stress, or just a migraine. But the truth was far worse.
What happens when you're screaming for help, but no one listens?
Told with raw honesty and gripping intensity, Stand Up: Screaming Into Silence is a memoir about medical gaslighting, resilience, and the brutal fight to be believed. From being abandoned in emergency rooms to reading her own falsified medical records, Janessa exposes the shocking reality of a healthcare system that failed her-and the moment that changed everything.
This is more than a story about survival. This is a call to stand up.
