Ultimate strengths varying from 80 000 pounds per square inch to 1 1 2 000 pounds per square inch are called for, with elonga tions Oi from 15 to 8 per cent. In some cases the values for the ultimate strength and the elongation must stand in some pre scribed relation. In only one case is the yield point specified.
