Would you like to de-stress your life and take back complete control? How liberating would it be if you could remove much of the hurt from the painful experiences in your life? How would you like to guarantee yourself that you'll never be a victim of anyone or anything ever again?Ever since our early ancestors started inventing various gods, humanity has been trying to find ways of explaining why bad things happen. So crops failed because they hadn't sacrificed enough virgins. By contrast in our increasingly secular age we've been conditioned to accept that sh*t just happens sometimes. Which sounds like a wonderfully laid back and philosophical approach to adopt. The only trouble is it's just plain wrong. All the modern evidence - from the world of sport, through out-of-body exploration and channelled messages from wise entities, to modern scientific research - suggests the primacy of the 'law of attraction'. That is, we create our experience, both good and bad, via our beliefs, conditioning, thoughts and intentions. So we attract sh*t into our lives not because God is vengeful, or because random chance just deals us a bad hand sometimes, but because of negative or limiting beliefs stored mainly in our subconscious that are often at odds with our conscious desires. Think of the person with low self-esteem who constantly attracts abusive partners. The trick then is to recognise we're responsible for attracting the entirety of our life experience, both good and bad, and to maximise the extent to which we create consciously rather than unconsciously. Above all we need to remember that we're not puny human beings buffeted by outrageous fortune, nor are we ever victims of anyone or anything. Instead each of us is a divine 'creator god' possessed of incredible power and wisdom. | Sh*t Doesn't Just Happen by Ian Lawton, Paperback | Indigo Chapters
