Earth has too many people, too much conflict and not enough resources for either. However, the Colony I , Earth's new Ark, disappears after the last wormhole jump to Segunda. Power hungry politicians, predatory nations, and those who have nothing to lose--all have an angle to take advantage of the situation. Roland has family and friends on board, and not wanting to wait for the bureaucratic red tape, commandeers a ship and sets out to answer the most important question--why did the Colony I disappear?
