He has lived many layered lives: a filmmaker and actor in New York, a TV journalist throughout the South, a popular Quiet Storm radio host, TV show creator and showrunner, restaurateur, entrepreneur, and the founder of a bold apparel brand celebrating Black identity (blackisbigapparel.com). Always moving forward-even when the road curved unexpectedly-he chased one unwavering dream: to make films that move people and leave a mark.
Born to Black intellectuals shaped by the Civil Rights Movement, Hogan's path was anything but linear. With humility, humor, and hard-won wisdom, he chronicles the scenes of his life that shaped him-and invites readers into the quiet triumphs and aching regrets that define a life still unfolding.
Scenes from a Life Unwritten is a message in a bottle-not adrift on the tide, but focused and steady while riding the stormy waves, never losing sight of the shore on the other side. This story is not an end, but a beginning-for every dreamer still writing their own story, no matter where they are in it.
