Excerpt from San Joaquin Valley Drainage Investigation: Appendix D; Waste Water Quality, Treatment, and Disposal The area of investigation included the entire San Joaquin Valley. This area, drainage pro blem areas, and the proposed alignment of the San Joaquin Master Drain are shown on Figure 1. Approximately 90 percent of the valley floor's eight million acres is considered to be irri gable. The Tulare Lake Basin portion of the valley floor con tains million acres and the San Joaquin River Basin portion contains million acres.
