Romeo & Juliet - Shakespeare like you never saw before. The classic tale of star crossed lovers, funnier than you ever thought, for fans of Dogman and Bunny Vs Monkey. The new graphic novel by Kev F Sutherland, of Beano and Marvel fame, tells Shakespeare's comedy straight, but keeps it fun throughout.
Suitable for seven year olds and fun for all ages. Kev's dream is that kids will read his books, then when they see the Shakespeare play they'll say "it's like Kev's book but not so much fun!"
Romeo & Juliet is Kev F's fifth Shakespearian graphic novel, following his hit adaptation of Richard The Third. This was preceded by Findlay Macbeth - where Macbeth is a salesman who gets passed over for promotion - , Hamlet Prince Of Denmark Street - where the tragic hero is in a punk rock band - and Midsummer Night's Dream Team - where Shakespeare's comedy is now a heist movie.
What they say about Kev F and his books:
"Schools, you should get Kev in for a comic-making masterclass" - Jamie (Bunny Vs Monkey) Smart
"...really smart & clever… seamless riffing from high Shakespeare to low demotic." - Martin Rowson (on Prince Of Denmark Street)
★★★★★ "A clever way in to Shakespeare. Recommend." - Anna, Etsy
★★★★★ "I normally stay away from Shakespeare works but not this enjoyable and funny" - Debbie, Amazon
★★★★★ "What an amazing and imaginative spin on a Shakespeare classic. Highly recommended!!!" - Chris R, Amazon
★★★★★ "A genuine page-turner with more twists and turns than a contortionist playing twister on the Hampton Court Palace Maze schematics after downing a dozen Red Bulls. Highly recommended!" - Laurence, Amazon
★★★★★ "Another brilliant book from Kev. He brings Shakespeare to life in a new, fun and interesting way - updated for the 21st century in his own unique way. I love his books!!" - Pixies & Me, Etsy
