Riyan and her big sister Marian are thrilled to spend their break reconnecting with nature in their backyard. They delight in observing the birds, squirrels, and rabbits as they go about their daily routines in the wild. With a special interest in helping the mourning doves that nest in the hedge, the sisters decide to set out bird seeds.
However, their good intentions are frequently thwarted by two cute but mischievous squirrels, Gemma and Chase. These energetic little creatures, whom the girls had named earlier, turn the simple task of feeding the doves into a humorous and frustrating challenge.
Despite the setbacks, Riyan's love for all the animals remains strong. She and Marian are determined to find a solution that will bring peace and balance to their backyard. Through creative problem-solving and teamwork, the sisters embark on a mission to create a harmonious environment where both the birds and squirrels can thrive.
Squirreling Around is a heartwarming tale of sibling bond, nature appreciation, and the clever ways children can overcome obstacles. This story is part of the Riyan's Backyard Adventures series, which encourages young readers to explore and nurture their connection with the natural world.
