Sometimes East does meet West. When Delores Carpenter and Mary Lou Wiese met they were from different parts of Kentucky. When they became good friends, they found that Mary Lou enjoyed going with Delores on her sightings of wildflowers. Delores's days often brightened by trips through Rockcastle and the surrounding counties to see how the wildflowers are doing. Sometimes Mary Lou is invited on these trips and the Western Kentucky Poet and Eastern Kentucky Photographer decide that their simple poems and pictures could work to give a voice to the hidden treasures of the back roads. As a result, this small book was born and they are sending it out to the world in the hope that it will bring joy to those who find it.
