Excerpt from Report of the Special Commission on Revenue and Taxation: 1914 The-state Revenue and Tax Commission was appointed by Governor Morehead on June 16, 1913, under authority of Chapter 188 of the Laws of 1913, which provides as follows: section 1. (taxation, revenue, commission.) Within thirty days from the adjournment of the Legislature, the Governor shall appoint a commission of five persons, residents of Nebraska, specially qualified by experience and study to deal with the prob lems of taxation in Nebraska, and to compare conditions here with conditions and experience elsewhere, and not more than three of whom shall be of the same political party. Any vacancy which may occur in such commission by reason of death, resigna-i tion or otherwise, shall be filled by appointment by the Governor.
