This pamphlet is a reply to Dr. J. Marion Sims' pamphlet entitled The Woman's Hospital, which was published in 1874. Sims had claimed credit for founding the hospital, but Peaslee, Thomas, and Emmet dispute that claim. They present evidence to support their argument that the hospital was actually founded by a group of women led by Lucy Webb Hayes, the wife of President Rutherford B. Hayes. An important document in the history of women's healthcare and advocacy. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. This work is in the "public domain in the United States of America, and possibly other nations.
