Raffles, a fictional gentleman thief created by E. W. Hornung. Each story in the collection features Raffles Holmes and his companion, Dr. John H. Watson (a parody of Dr. John Watson from the original Holmes stories), as they embark on various absurd and comedic investigations. Bangs employs clever wordplay, absurd situations, and playful twists on familiar detective tropes to entertain readers."R. Holmes & Co." showcases Bangs's talent for satire and his affectionate parody of the detective fiction of his time. The collection offers a lighthearted and entertaining take on the Sherlock Holmes mythos while also paying homage to Conan Doyle's iconic characters.
