Coles Quiet Noise: A Collection of Speculative Shorts at Village Green Shopping Centre in Vernon, BC
*Product information may vary - to confirm product availability, pricing, shipping and return information please contact Coles
Quiet Noise is an array of short stories that summons the reader to use their knowledge and experience with right and wrongs to face long-standing neglected morals. Characters, events, images, descriptions, and reader pre-awareness are given secondary seats while the allegorical message sits at the head of the table.
In each tale, inevitability and plot resolve are usurped by recognizable people in bodily or mental stress whose deeds lead to unexpected endings. What better way to deliver a surprise than in a short story.
Throughout this book you will discover themes that cover planned suicide; a sixth-dimension trip to the Great Judgment Hall; the fear of dying alone; the absurdity of human conflict; parental child abuse; long-standing travail of adolescent infatuation; a child's near-death experience with its consequences; and the story of a tow truck driver who has a spiritual message to deliver.
