The material of this book will introduce the readers to the many issues involved in the design of digital circuits. The material of this book assumes that the readers have a general understanding of the FPGAs and the basic concepts of programmable logic. For designing digital circuits, we will use the Intel Quartus® Prime 16.1 Light Edition software also referred to as the Quartus® Prime Design Suite running in Windows 10, although Intel Quartus will run on earlier versions of Windows. You can download the software from the Intel website (www.altera.com/download) and install it on your computer.
The designs described in this book were tested on the development board equipped with the Cyclone IV FPGA. Each design is accompanied by a brief description which helps to make things clear and allows the readers to easily improve the design.
