No other pope in history traveled as widely as Pope John Paul II. Although commemorative and memorabilia books abound on his life and travels, few offer such an intimate portrait and reflection from a Canadian perspective of this remarkable papacy. Women and men across Canada were deeply moved by Pope John Paul II's three visits. His words and witness penetrated the hearts of all, and shaped the Canadian Church for decades to come.
Now from Fr. Thomas Rosica, a man who spent countless hours with the pope and knew him well, comes this remarkable reflection on Pope John Paul II's visits and teachings to Canadians. Fr. Rosica invites us to deeply ponder the words that Pope John Paul II shared with us and to consider the implications of those teachings for those of us who continue to proclaim the joy and vitality of the Gospel. As we embrace and live out the work of the New Evangelization, Fr. Rosica shows us how Pope John Paul II's message and witness provide us a guide and way for being the salt of the earth and light of the world.
All women and men, lay and ordained, committed to renewing the Canadian Church will find this book to be of inestimable value and a source for future reflection as we live and work for the New Evangelization.
