Excerpt from The Boss Of Me: His aftershave smelled like oak and sandalwood. I imagined slapping his cheek like the fiery heroine I imagined myself to be. Just as the impulse leapt from my brain to my right hand, Mr. Bolton grabbed my wrist. Games were useless. The man could read me like a book. I nodded silently in complete surrender. He had regained complete control. It then dawned on me that he had never lost it. He had just been toying with me, to make me feel that I had power over him, when I didn't. I was at his mercy, but I also knew we were both agreeing to something risky and exciting. I had always secretly fantasized about a strong man dominating me. Now it was about to become true. He chuckled softly and pulled me to him. Lowering his face to mine, he smoothly slipped his tongue in my mouth. His lips tasted like salt and honey. He knew just how to kiss me, with enough force so that I felt helpless in his arms but so sensually, I closed my eyes to let the sweet heady buzz fill my brain and drown all reason.
