After the birth of her dairy-intolerant son Troy, lawyer Marlies Hobbs, had a new outlook on life and a sincere appreciation for the effects of food on our physical (and mental) health. When husband Jai returned from CrossFit one day and told her about the Paleo diet, she was sceptical at first, but after reading The Paleo Diet by Loren Cordain it made perfect sense. After only a short time on Paleo, the Hobbs family experienced remarkable improvements to their health and wellbeing. It was from there that Marlies and Jai went on to open their own Paleo Cafe in Cairns, and with remarkable interest for expansion it soon became a national franchise, winning many awards including Best New QSR, Emerging Ausmumpreneur of the Year and National Franchise Woman of the Year. With over 15 Paleo Cafes around Australia there was an abundance of delicious tried and tested recipes and you can find over 130 of our favourite recipes in this book. Paleo Cafe secured the biggest deal ever done on Shark Tank Season 2 with Boost Juice founder Janine Allis, but when the deal ultimately fell through in due diligence the group agreed to transition to independent brands. This book remains a legacy of the much loved Paleo Cafe brand and the delicious food it served and the health journeys it inspired.
