It is a time before humans and animals encounter set in the National parks of the Grand Teton and Yellowstone. Oscar the Osprey and His Dauting Decision is the continuation of a fiction book series that follows Oscar, a spirited Osprey, who overcomes difficulties and learns life lessons as he receives wisdom from other animals in the forest. This fourth book of the fictional book series teaches young elementary-grade students how to make difficult decisions. Oscar is learning how to make a difficult life decision as he faces the perils of a dangerous trip or experiencing a regret. Oscar has spent his life overcoming challenges but hasn't faced challenges quite like this one. As a knowledge seeker, Oscar encounters a pine tree, a bear, and Woo, the wise Owl, to engage the geyser-filled world. Author Edward Martin Polansky brings together a remarkable story told through the eyes of osprey, eagles, bears, bison, beavers, and owls, with human-like characteristics to help kids make difficult decisions and overcome life's challenges. Kirkus Reviews called another story in this fiction book series, Oscar the Osprey: The Bird Who Was Afraid of Heights, "A charming tale about deceit's tangled web with textured, kinetic illustrations."
