The Hikikomoris -Rusty-Boy from New York City, Sick-Boy from London, and Yo-Boy from Tokyo -are hugely popular in the music nerd genre. Their live shows "sell out" on the internet. Their cult-like fans are rabid and passionate. Their digital albums chart the Billboard 200. The band manages, thanks to the internet, to connect with a whole niche that speak their language. The language of the isolated, the socially awkward, the alienated, the internet dwellers. They successfully fuse live music with the internet and marry social networking with fandom to a degree that differs from any other band, because unlike most bands, who have to compete with the attention span of listeners faced with thousands of different things on the internet, The Hikikomoris are one with the internet.
