Log Home design has long been dominated by books about the technique of log construction or the technical aspects of the design process. On Design helps us reflect on how we actually live in our log homes so we might better think about how we design the spaces we inhabit.
In order to succeed, our homes must serve us...by creating spaces that speak to us: creating an environment that grounds our being, an appreciation of finely-crafted material, a relationship with the natural world beyond the walls...translating what is not physical -emotional, psychological and cultural qualities--into a physical form--our log homes. Since starting his design career in 1984 in Whistler, British Columbia, Murray has been designing and consulting on log homes throughout the world. His creative and visionary work is appreciated by the public and industry alike. In addition to his design column for Log Home Living Magazine, Murray 's work has been featured in numerous books and publications.
