It was supposed to be a peaceful day off in the glowing utopia of Heartlight Square. All heroine Neko Con Carne and her loyal sidekick Aoi wanted was to pick up a copy of the modern cat classic, Birds Outside of the Window, from Kenny's Good Tapes. But in a city where the peace is as fragile as a VHS ribbon, a simple trip to the video store is never just a trip to the video store.
Enter the malevolent Dr. Kale. In a foul mood and sporting a questionable disguise, the mad scientist has staged a hostile takeover of Kenny's establishment. Along with his robotic minions Mig, Socket, and the "magician machine" Fidenzio Orsino, Kale has replaced reasonable retail with a murderous new business model... pay fifty-six billion dollars per tape, or pay with your life.
